EZE'S GUIDE TO THE VALKYRIE

Valkyries are 8 housing space troops that deal area splash damage which means she can damage multiple targets at once. The Valkyrie is one of the Few troops in the Clash World that resemble the real Valkyries that date back to the early European traditions of the dark sided heroines. They were often depicted as warriors, vikings and even gods. Here, they are just bad @ss warriors that we call Valks and on occasion she is called Big Red.

EZE'S TOP TROOP AWARD
4/5 STARS
Valkyries are have always been a player favorite for her fiery attacks on the Clan Castle troops where she reigned supreme since the Valkyrie made their 1st appearance and Clash of Clans 3rd Dark Elixir Troop. However, since the Valkyrie upgrade (we call BUFF) in the March 2016 Update she has collected an entire new fan base as most of the Clash of Clans playing population now uses her in either their Clan War attacks, resource hunting raids or both. Today the Valkyrie boast one of the fastest 1st swings in the game which makes her an even better troop killer AND allows her to use her traditional Whirlwind attack at an incredible pace, leveling multiple buildings at once.
Using the Valkyrie on offense is fairly simple.
Deploy them in groups of 8-24 after you deploy any
large tanking troop (like the Golem or Giant) and you
have cleared out a clear path from the outside of the
walls into the base. This as we all know is called the
Funnel. As a quick reminder a funnel is when you clear
out sections along the exterior of the walls leaving one
key building in the center of the area that you want
your troops to gravitate towards. You then deploy the
main war party on that last building so once they
destroy it there will be nowhere for the troops to go but inside the bases walls. Once you have created a nice area to funnel the Valkyries into your ready to match them do some serious work. Advanced players Deploy the Valkyries, funneling them into the base and continue to direct them into the core of the base by using either Earthquake Spells to level the walls, or with a well placed Jump Spell. Once the Valkyries are close to the core of the Base use a Rage Spell. If you are using 10+ Valkyries they will enter the Rage Spell, run behind buildings and they simply start to fall the moment the Valks get close to them. There is no other troop in the Clash World that has this type of devastating effect.
Fair warning, Valkyries do have several weaknesses. 1st is their speed. You would think that a troop with such tremendous speed would only benefit from it but that is not always the case. Effective attacks take a careful balance between the "sword" and the "shield" meaning that you need the larger tanking troops to absorb most of the firepower from the ground's point defenses and the Valks will simply outrun their companions on occasion. This may lead to their demise at times unless the attacker is mindful of the Valks speed and deploys them in a protective manner. To do this you must either hesitate a little longer than you would with other complimentary troops like the P.E.K.K.A. or Wizards or you need to have the spell configurations ready to overwhelm and overpower the defenses. 2nd is that they can not defend against airborne troops. This means that if you deploy Valkyries and a Clan Castle Dragon gets over them and you do not have backup troops ready to assist, the Valkyries will have a short lived romp through the base. 3rd are the Giant Bombs. A Valkyrie attack may be the fastest attack in the game and in the middle of the mayhem they may run over several sets of Double Giant Bombs or DBB (see the Hog Rider Page for more details) If this happens before you are ready with a Heal Spell.. Goodnight Valkyries!
Valkyries are extremely expensive to use at 190
Dark Elixir for each Maxed unit and even more
expensive to upgrade but, like I have said many
times in the past, they are expensive because
they are worth it! Unless SuperCell decides to
"Nerf" the Valkyrie and depreciate their abilities,
they will remain as one of the top troops for BOTH
offense AND defense. The Bowlers may take the #1
Offensive spot and the Baby Dragon has Braggin rights for the top
Defensive troop... but overall its hard to match the power and
speed that BIG RED brings to the table. We still see TH11s load
up 10-14 Valkyries and deploy them after they have cleaned out the outer trash buildings.. they soar to the core of the base and under a well placed Rage Spell they devour the core of the TH11 in under 2 seconds! This being said you should try to upgrade your Dark Barracks to get to her as soon as you possibly can once you have reached TH8 and once you have her in your possession
upgrade her to maxed for that particular TH level immediately.. That’s an order!! Then learn how to use the Valkyrie, also the sooner the better!
On defense Valkyries are hard to deal with but not impossible by any means. If you are in a war and have a good idea (due to troop levels etc) that the Valkyrie is a favored troops there are a couple of things you can do to improve your defensive posture to the point that YOU will have the advantage. 1st make it very difficult to pull your Clan Castle troops. You need those Valkyries to collide with your CC troops NOT a high level Archer Queen with 4 Healers over her shoulders. The troop you want in your Clan Castle is the Golem. Golem will KILL Valkyrie attacks before they even have a chance to develop most of the time. This is due to their Death Damage. This is the rare event that a troops strength is also their weakness. The Valkyries are such effective troop killers that when a Golem pops out of the Clan Castle (into a group of 8 or more Valkyries like at the beginning of the Valk. portion of the raid) The Valkyries immediately surround the Golem and within 1 second they split the Golem in two. A maxed Golem (most clans will have maxed troops in their Clan Castles once they have hit level 5) does 600 Death Damage, and it is Splash Damage so all Valkyries are hit with 600 Damage. Both Golomites will quickly meet the same fate as their parental unit causing 120 Death Damage Each for a total of 840 Damage. Level 1 and 2 Valkyries are instantly vaporized. Level 3-5 Valkyries health dwindles down to have between 50 and 240 hit points remaining (if they were not damaged on the way towards the CC Golem) which means that they are all about one shot away from their last breath. This all happens in a split second and it's a result of the Valkyrie's aggression bringing a whole new meaning to "you did this to yourself young lady!"
Hopefully by now you can see what I've been noticing for a long time. The Valkyrie is one tough troop!. In comparison she even matches or beats the incredible power of the Wizard, which may be the 2nd strongest troop based on housing space vs. productivity. Lets compare the two for a moment, the Wizard takes up 4 housing space and the Valkyrie takes up 8. The Wizard maxes out at 210 Hit Points and does 215 DPS. The Valkyrie takes up 8 housing space and maxes out at 1,100 Hit points and does 266 DPS. This means that for every one housing space the Wizard has just over 50 Hit Points and does just under 54 DPS BUT the Valkyrie has 137 Hit Points and does 33 DPS for that same one housing space! Although the Wizard does do a little more DPS per single housing space unit, the additional Hit Points that the Valkyries offer allow them to stay alive longer to continue to administer that damage long after the fragile Wizard is able to.
Overall The Valkyrie get EZE's Top Troop Award and a whopping 4 stars. Try them for yourself and see why I have been crushing on them for so long. Oh and BTW.. NirvDamage made me take my poster of the Valkyrie down from my bedroom wall. This means that the Valkyrie can not only attack troops in the opposing players base but they can also attack your Wife's sanity.. Another reason to love them!
