Barbarians are the first single housing space troop that every player starts off with in Town Hall 1(TH1). They attack a single target and have no favorite target. They can only attack ground units. Barbarians are 1/2 of the famed Barcher or Barch attack and when teamed up with the Archer they become a great farming (another name for resource hunting) tool especially at the lower TH levels. They run up to their targets and attack in close range which allow ranged troops like the Archer to shoot at their targets without taking defensive fire. 

        Barbarians are also spawned during the Barbarian King's special ability called The Iron Fist. Once the Barbarian King triggers his ability several Barbarians (the exact number varies depending on the Kings level) appear along side the Barbarian King and become Enraged as part of the Kings ability. Many players drop an additional 10-20

Barbarians into the Barbarian Kings Raging ability to

create a swarm of Barbs, causing a great deal of

damage because all Barbarians that enter the Kings

ability range during the time of the ability also become

raged along with the Barbarian King. Sound confusing?

Its really pretty simple. If your Barbarian King is

anywhere on the map that you have the ability to add

troops to his attack during his ability.. do so, sit back

and enjoy the show.

       Barbarians are not the fastest or strongest troops in your army but for a single housing space troop they have tons of value. The small amount of elixir you spend training him, the HP and DPS you will get from each individual troop and the speedy training time makes the Barbarian on of the most popular troops used in the game. Remember the Barbarian is a team player and like to be used in combination with other  troops, especially the ranged attackers!
