P.E.K.K.A., the actual full name of this troop is the games greatest mystery but the damage done by this troop is not.. Its legendary. We do know P.E.K.K.A. aka Pekka is a female character and she has the highest damage per swing out of all of the normal troops in the game. She has a very slow attack rate and is seems like an even slower movement rate but that’s only a minor setback for this elite troop. She is the Damage Specialist in the most popular attack of them all The Gowipe (Golem/ Wizard/Pekka) and the newest attack combo the Govape (Golem/ Valkyrie/ Pekka) Pekka attacks the closest building to her without

discrimination and will pull off of any building to

attack enemy troops, this also includes the pesky

Skeleton Trap but with the Pekka's slow attack

rate the Skeleton Traps are problematic for this

hefty troop.

      Pekka is well known for her overwhelming power but

she is also well known for another thing too. We like to

call it the Nature Walk or the Butterfly hunt and its when

Pekka paths around the  outside of the walls even though

the attacker feels like they have done a good job at

attempting to funnel her into the base's walls.

Knowing that the Pekka has a tendency to run to the

 outside, especially if they have to break a wall to enter

the base, many advanced players will use this to their

advantage. Adding 4-5 Wizards or your Archer Queen right

behind your busy Pekka and they will help he push her way around the outside of the walls. They will follow Pekka closely, shooting the defenses and other buildings that rest just behind the walls turning a potential blunder into a punishing threat from the outside.

       Hidden Tesla Towers are the Pekka's nemesis no more! As of the October 2016 update the Hidden Tesla Towers do regular damage to PEKKA!. The Tesla will not target Pekka as a priority troop any longer either which is all part of Supercell's effort to revamp the Pekka as one of the game's elite troops. So as of October 2016, being left of of the attack roster is Pekka's worst nightmare! (other than her reoccurring nightmare about the Valkyrie catching butterflies and pulling their wings off.. good job RED) Still, keep the Hidden Tesla towers in mind before and during every attack when you plan on using the Pekka. I would suggest bringing a full arrangement of spells to compliment your Pekka. The Rage Spell is by far the best spell for the Pekka. She will one shot almost any structure on the map while under a Rage spell. Use a Jump Spell if a high level Wall stands in between her and high DPS targets, lets always keep in mind that as powerful as she is the rate of attack speed becomes an issue and Pekka will take on tons of damage as she slowly chops away at walls. Last, many players have mastered using the Haste Spell. Pekka already has tons of power and the Haste spell speeds her along nicely. Try to use it in a central location that will be in an area that she can race through and then return through again. Many players complain because they use a Haste Spell and the troops simply run out of it.. Tricky spell honestly.

       Pekka is not the best troop to use in the defensive Clan Castle. They take up 25 spaces and even though they pack a wallop when they swing, they take so long to get that 1st swing off they rarely get more than 1-2. You would be MUCH better off using a Valkyrie in the defensive Clan Castle (my favorite troop FYI) Not only does the Pekka have an extremely slow defensive attack they can only attack ground troops so 3-4 Minions would eventually take out the Pekka.

The offensive Clan Castle is a completely different story.

If you are ably to give a maxed Pekka to anyone TH8 and

under they will instantly have a huge advantage on the

battle field. Remember that Pekka have an odd

upgrade pattern, allowing 2 upgrades in TH8 to max out

at LVL 3 and none in TH9, then another 2 in TH10. Those

currently in any TH under 10 will not have the opportunity

to use a maxed Pekka and they take a MASSIVE jump

from LVL 3 to LVL5 so if you are in a clan and can donate

maxed Pekka do so liberally, your clan mates will definitely

appreciate it!6

   The December 2016 Winter Update was VERY nice to our good friend the P.E.K.K.A. They did not increase her level or her DPS (damage per second) BUT they did increase her 1st strike speed and also speed up her attack speed for the rest of the attacks. What does this mean? It is a little confusing so I will break down the ramifications of it all. Before Pekka hit every 2.5 seconds and did a whopping 950 damage per strike (Maxed Pekka)... WOW thats alot! Now she still does the same damage per second (380 for maxed) but she strikes every 1.5 seconds. Now she is striking at a 570 damage per strike and striking alot more often which is GREAT against other troops especially. Most troops will die with a single blow at 570 damage so the extra time to do the 950 damage was not needed anyway. Smaller buildings like the builders huts will also go down in a single shot too which means the Pekka will not need to stay on each defense as long either. You will notice that she also strikes MUCH faster once a defense or building is in range instead of the old 2 second build up. This minor buff should help Pekka get back into the elite status that she most certainly deserves to hold! Lets see how the top players get her back into their lineups!

On the topic of upgrading your P.E.K.K.A. my advice would be to save the Elixir and upgrade her as soon as possible. Use the Pekka over and over until you have mastered her. Take a screen shot of her and use it as your phones wallpaper so you see her every time you open your phone.. She is that important!

Final thoughts.. be sure to look for the NEWEST troop on your Builder Base the SUPER P.E.K.K.A.who has already got a reputation for being the strongest troop of all time!
