As soon as you buy the 1st section of Walls you will notice a distinct difference between you Home Village Walls and your Builder Base wall. Your Home Village has the Walls separated into individual bricks and the builder base walls have groups of 5 walls in a row. These groups can not be broken up but yes, they can be rotated and assembled into a wide variety of shapes.

       The actual game play on your Builder Base is so much different than your Home Village that the Wall designs that work well are usually much simpler than you may have anticipated. On your Home Village you would NEVER want to build 1 giant square and then fill it up with defenses because the troops will break through the outer wall and have a hay day with the wide open layout. The Builder Base is quite different in regards to what kind of base design works. I have personally seen a "big open square" type base defend extremely well… with this in mind I would suggest everyone start off there and move forward from the "big square".

       The first thing to everyone should consider before designing your Builder Base is what troops are attacking you. Then try to build your base with their weaknesses in mind.

      One of the most used and effective troops on the Builder Base is the Sneaky Archer. Their range promotes the use of large compartments and should scare most everyone away from building thin sections of walls because if they can reach from one end to the other they will easily clear the entire compartment.
