EZE'S GUIDE TO THE SKELETON SPELL

The Skeleton Spell is a Dark Elixir Spell that you get once you get into TH9 and upgrade you Dark Spell Factory to level 4. This is a costly and time consuming upgrade in a time when you need your dark spells on almost every raid. The Skeleton Spell is a 1 housing space spell so you can hold 2 Skeleton Spells for every one Rage Spell you carry (just for example) The Skeleton Spell is a tricky spell to use and has got mixed reviews because of it but there are a couple of applications that the Skeleton Spell is THE SPELL you need to get the job done. Lets go over the basics then get into few unique examples on the diversity of the Skeleton Spell.

1st off.. The higher you upgrade the Skeleton Spell the more Skeletons it produces. The Spell produces a multitude of individual Skeletons that all have their own Hit Points that do individual damage. Many people get that confused and think they share HP and do collective damage. A Level 1 spell will produce 15 Skeletons and a maxed spell produces 26, yes that's right 26 Skeletons over a short period of time. This may seem like a lot but they have relatively low hit points and most defenses will 1 shot them. In fact, all defenses that do Area Splash Damage can and will wipe the entire horde out in one shot if your not careful. I believe the reason that they are staggered into the attack is to help prevent them all from being destroyed at one time from an angry Wizard Tower's splash attack. This being said, it would be a good idea to try to avoid using the Skeleton Spell on any defense that does splash damage and focus on the single target defenses or the trash buildings.
The Skeletons from a Skeleton Spell, like their counterpart's from the Witch or Skeleton Trap DO NOT trigger any traps with the exception of the Hidden Tesla Tower… if we are considering the Tesla as a trap. This comes in handy when used at the end of an attack. The Skeleton Spell is a great choice once all of the defenses have been eliminated and you are down to the trash buildings with time running out. They are not the best choice to dispatch in front of your troops to help clear out the Bombs and Giant Bombs.. They use to be but after a much needed NERF to the over powered Witch, the Skeletons lost their ability to spread out and uncover all or the nasty little traps the defending player will lay out for you. Let's get into some of my favorite applications for the Skeleton Spell-
1st and maybe the most valuable is the "Queen Killers" This example is best outlined in the Laloon Attack. The defending Queen is a huge liability to the attacking players Balloons so what advance players have figured out is that as the Balloons are headed towards the Archer Queen you can drop 1-2 Skeleton Spells on top of the Queen and then use a Rage Spell to not only speed the Balloons over the Queen as fast as possible but to energize the Skeletons. As soon as the Rage is over the Skeleton Spell location they become too much for the defending Queen to handle and often wipe her off the map in a matter of seconds.
2nd is in the Clan War setting. For this example lets say your clan mate attacked a base and only 1 starred it because during their attack they ran their troops over a set of triple Giant Bombs. This ended the attack. You want to do a similar attack but do not want to end up with the same fate so as your attacking and working your way through the base drop a skeleton spell on the defense or trash building that’s surrounded by the Giant Bombs. The Skeletons can take out their target and never even set off the 1st Giant Bomb. As an added bonus… without there being a building left standing in the Giant Bomb Trap location, your troops will then path around it all together!
3rd will be to use the Skeleton Spell to assist you with those tough ground CC troops like the Witch. Drop the Skeleton Spell behind the Witch's own group of Skeletons in addition to a Poison Spell to quickly eliminate the source of the problem which will be the Witch. Remember that if you drop the Skeleton Spell on a Valkyrie, she will easily wipe them all out in one swift swing!
4th will be my final example even though I could go on a little more (I'm obviously a big fan) This is a high risk high reward situation too so all of you risk takers out there will love it! In TH10 you are often tasked with trying to 2 star an enemy TH11 in the Clan War setting. If they have a ring base without Wizard Towers (or similar defenses) in the core you can use the Skeleton Spell to bombard the core of the base. Use 5 Skeleton Spells, 1 Rage and 1 Freeze Spell to do the job. The goal is to freeze the multi Inferno Tower and as many other defenses along with it. Drop the Rage Spell 1st, then all 5 Skeleton Spells and last the Freeze Spell and with some practice you can take out the Town Hall and often get the Eagle Artillery as a consolation prize too! Now all you have to do is make sure you pick up the 50%. You can use this sniping type of Skeleton Spell/ Freeze and Rage Spell combo to get the DE in farm raids too. Its not quite as simple as the multiple Lightning Spells of old but its an effective way to get to the DE and move on to the next base without using the 1st troop.. Just make sure you boost the Spell Factories. (10 Gems boosts both the Spell Factory and the Dark Spell Factory)
I understand that most players have a "set" of spells that they like to bring on their specific attacks and to change the lineup of spells can cause some unsettling feelings BUT I can assure you that in the case of the Skeleton Spell you will be more than satisfied with the value that it brings. Think of how many failed LaLoon Attacks you have done due to an overly ambitious defending Archer Queen! Adding the Skeleton Spell and taking one less Haste Spell will be all it takes and WELL WORTH IT!!
