Clashers Vs. Modders

I decided to spend some time in the Global Chat talking to active players about SuperCell's decision on the permanent ban placed on any player caught using 3rd party software (aka modding) Then I spent 2-3 hours cruising through all of the social media outlets, reading every post with a "banned" heading that I could. After talking and reading I sat and let it all sink in...

This is what I came up with... We all have laws that we have to follow everyday, from the moment we leave our house in the morning we start complying with everything from our local traffic laws to all of our societal laws that are meant to keep everyone functioning in harmonious balance with one another. Once we witness someone breaking the law most of us shake our heads and think ":you can't just run the red light!" (just a simple example) We all have rules we have to follow too. For instance... we have dress codes that prevent someone from wearing a string bikini to the office. The reason for these laws and rules are really simple. They are to protect us.

When serious laws are broken we punish those who break them. The level of punishment is based on the severity of the crime. Over time we as a civilized group of people have managed to complicate the laws and rules that we have to follow, but even as the "grey areas" in the law expands most of us still understand what we are suppose to do and why and for the most part the general population tries to respect one another enough to maintain "lawful behavior". For those of us who do break the law..we end up in jail..

Now to make my point.. If I were to go out tonight and get drunk, drive my car into a tree and get myself arrested for drunk driving I can not tell the Judge.. "its not fair" or " I didn't know that I can't drink and drive" or "my taxes pay for this courtroom so you can't punish me"

Those comments made by the drunk driver to the Judge is what the Banned Players are ultimately saying. I read "I got banned and its not fair because they didn't warn me" which is a lie because everyone got warned. I read " \we are the backbone of Clash, without us they would not be where they are today" and I thought so the modders spent several Billion? Because that's how SuperCell got to where they are today. They have inticed their players to invest Billions in their game.

So my suggestion to anyone who got banned is this. Be honest with yourself and admit that you intentionally broke into SuperCells pride and joy, Clash of Clans with someone else's program and either spied on other bases in war, attacked bases that you were not suppose to or raided bases that were completely full of resources. If this were real life that would be breaking and entering, theft by taking and maybe receiving stolen property.. (think about this.. there are people that spent real money on resources like gold and elixir only to have someone mod them and steal it from them) .. keep in mind that I don't know exactly what you can do when modding because I've never done it so everything I have mentioned is based on what I've heard players talk about doing.

In response to the honest player insisting that SuperCell do something about these sneaky players reeking havoc inside their game SuperCell warned everyone that if they catch you with the 3rd party software in their game they will ban you permanently. I think they feel like modders murdered the integrity of the game and the sentence for murder is the same as it is in the real world.. life, or in this case a lifetime ban.

So for those of you that have got caught modding and are currently banned just think of yourselves as getting off easy and if you want in so bad prepare yourself to make the commitment to make the journey to the top from TH1. You could have had it so much worse. SuperCell could have investigated each person who got caught modding and fine you for intentionally depreciating the potential value of the game.. better known as punitive damages. If you think that its impossible just go ask anyone that has had to pay fines for illegally downloading songs or other copyrighted material. After all you did break into their game and some of the modders stole resources that they charge money to other players for in the form of in-app purchases..

#modders=murders lol
