This is the original painting that created the Gateway. (also shown on the Psychedelic Collection Page) This was originally painted to show the rings of time like we see inside an old tree. As the piece was coming together details were showing up everywhere, inside the rings (which I thought looked like worms or cocoons) all around the rings and in the top corner was this bright light that looked like energy moving it's way down the painting. Then we got a different vantage point of the painting and got the first look at what looked like half a face. At that moment we decide to try something just to see what the whole face would look like.  We copied the painting and the flipped the painting on the right over and matched up the nose and mouth
